The K5 Safety Patch is a revolutionary new way of protecting small volumes such as distribution boards, junction boxes and wall sockets. The self-adhesive patch contains micro-encapsulated clean agent gas pockets which will release the clean agent gas at 110 degrees Celcius to effectively suppress a fire condition. The patch requires no maintenance and has a 5 year lifespan.
K5 Technology
K5 technology is a cutting edge fire extinguishing technology. At our K5 laboratories, we have developed a wide range of composite materials and products capable of suppressing fires. These materials contain our patented K5 Technology microcapsules. The microcapsules store an ozone friendly, fire extinguishing agent and are designed to release this agent only if their heat-sensitive shells reach a predetermined set temperature. At this temperature the shell of the capsule bursts and the extinguishing agent is suddenly discharged and projected in the direction of the fire. A device of any form, size or material, incorporating K5 technology can safely remain in “standby mode” for many years but when activated, will automatically target the fire at the place where it occurs, preventing the fire from developing.

K5 Safety Patch Product Range
The K5 SAFETY PATCH is a miniature self-contained, automatic, local fire suppression device, incorporating K5 technology and is used to provide fire protection to electrical equipment such as electrical sockets, junction boxes, power distribution boards, electrical cabinets and other electrical equipment that operate within a confined space. The safety patch comes in a range of different sizes and can protect volumes from 0.02 and 60 dm3 (cubic decimeters).
The K5 SAFETY PATCH is a self-adhesive flexible plate that contains the K5 composite fire suppressing material. To mount the device, simply stick the patch horizontally above the potential source of ignition to provide immediate fire protection. The K5 SAFETY PATCH is available in 5 different models depending on the volume requiring protection. The models available are: SPS, SP15, SP25, SP45 and SP60.
The K5 Safety Patch (S)
The K5 SAFETY PATCH (S) is a 3×3 cm (9cm2), 2mm thick, flexible adhesive plate that is designed for the efficient extinguishing of Class A, B and C fires and is used primarily to protect electrical sockets. To mount the device, simply stick the patch inside the socket box, above the area susceptible to short-circuits, overheating or spark formation, to provide immediate fire protection. The K5 SAFETY PATCH (S) can also be installed in any small-sized electrical devices, such as switches, junction boxes, closed elements of lighting fixtures, relay cases, electric motor connection boxes, etc. The K5 SAFETY PATCH (S) does not require servicing. The K5 SAFETY PATCH (SP15, SP25, SP45 and SP60) – is a range of functionally identical products, in the form of flexible adhesive plates 3mm thick, that are placed inside of the device requiring protection, above the potential source of fire. The K5 SAFETY PATCH (SP15, SP25, SP45 and SP60) is designed for the efficient, automatic extinguishing of Class A, B and C fires within the specified volume. The K5 SAFETY PATCH has many industrial and residential uses, for example: protection of electrical cabinets, power supplies, circuit breaker panels, distributions boards AC and DC, load center/centers, consumer units, household appliances, air conditioning units, storage cabinets and safes securing documents and valuables, etc. The numeric part of the SAFETY PATCH index, (15 / 25 / 45 / 60), corresponds to the protected volume in liters (dm3). K5 PATCHPAINT is an innovative multi-purpose fire suppression product, designed with the application of K5 technology. K5 PATCHPAINT is a fire retardant polymer coating (paint with fire retardant feature). Fire suppression is provided by the microcapsules contained in the K5 PATCHPAINT.
K5 PATCHPAINT is primarily designed for industrial applications, for example, the provision of fire extinguishing features to large surface areas. K5 PATCHPAINT can be applied to surfaces by any standard painting method. The viscosity, adhesion, working temperature etc. can all be adjusted to meet the specific fire protection requirements. As a result of the application of K5 PATCHPAINT, any surface acquires the ability to suppress fire (technological limitations apply).
